I almost missed the boat on this empties post again, but didn’t want it to turn into January, February and March samples, so we’ll just suffice with this being a few days late. Schedules are just guidelines anyway right? Anyway, I have a good selection here so I’ll get stuck in.
First up, the GlamGlow YouthMud. I was really disappointed in this, given the hype and price of this product. I did a full review here if you’re interested but the upshot is I won’t be splashing out on it.
Another disappointment is the Benefit They’re Real! mascara. I find it to be overly wet and clumps terribly. Also, I don’t know if this is just me, but I always stab the inner corners of my eyes with the stupid spiky ball on the end of the wand. Is this just me being useless?
I had a little vial of Ghost perfume which I’ve used up. It’s a very nice fragrance which is mostly floral but also has a little hint of peachiness. I used to have a bottle of this so it was nice to give it a whirl again.
The Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic is a classic for sure, but I’m not entirely sure what it does. I know it’s a toner, but I’m not really sure what a toner does either. Well it must do something as my skin felt great for the month I was using this up. The aloe vera and cucumber are very calming and have resulted in happy skin for me so I will be repurchasing this.
I gave my hair a real treat on the night I used the Sanctuary Spa Hair and Scalp Rescue Mud. I left my hair super duper soft and I’ll definitely be picking up more of these sachets next time I’m in Boots.
Next, I’ve been using the Ren Hot Cloth Cleanser. This is the first hot cloth cleanser I’ve used and I’m totally sold on it. The Ren one is soft and milky and left my skin feeling clean but not stripped. I may look for a cheaper version of this but I wouldn’t rule out buying it again.
The Soap & Glory Righteous Butter is another classic product which I’m sure most people have tried. It’s a sugary sweet scent but packs a real punch when it come to hydration, even on scaly elbows and knees (gross I know!).
Lastly, the Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream. I’ve had a few of these mini pots and I really have to splash out on a full size as I really like it. I sinks into the skin quickly and keeps the eye area nicely moisturised.
That’s all my samples from the past two months, a mixed bag for sure, but that’s the great thing about samples I think.
Have you made any great beauty discoveries recently?
