#BEDM | Wishlist

I love a good wishlist post, it’s basically guilt-free shopping. I don’t have too many things on my wishlist this time around – which is lucky as the items that are there are at the top of my budget. But they are luuush…

Ash Bowie hi-tops trainers navy

I’ve wanted a pair of Ash hi-tops for ages. The awesomely named Ooh Ruby Shoes in Bruntsfield sells and they are on 30% off until the 2nd June! Will have to go try them on, hope they are as comfy as they look. £155.

AshJungleTrainerLeopard-440x440

And I may have to get these Leopard slip ons while I’m there… £139.

Cassi Fatchel

There’s no two ways to say this, I need a Fatchel. Rhodesian of Edinburgh offer made to order wide satchels which are absolutely beautiful and practical. The above is the Cassi, a good medium sized bag and is available in a multitude of colours. I really want a lilac one like Hannah’s here. Rhodesian also donate £2 to charity for each sale – what good guys! From £125.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess

And one beauty product – I’ve been after a bottle of “summer holiday in a bottle” Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder for years but I keep leaving it too late before it goes off the shelves. This year will be my Bronze Goddess year! £47.

Well I do deserve a treat! What is at the top of your wishlist?

The ‘Mani Monday’ Wish List

Mani Monday wish listA girl can never have too many nail polishes right? Well cosmetics companies certainly seem to think so as they keep bringing out more and more must haves. Here’s a mixture of new and old polishes that currently at the top of my wish list. Oh, have I mentioned that it’s my birthday this month?

The Model’s Own Speckled Eggs range looks amazing! Like the Illamasqua I’mperfection range but just £5 a pop instead of £15. I think I need all 5 shades and a big bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs too of course.

I’ve been after Nails Inc’s ‘Haymarket’ and ‘Chelsea Square’ for ages. Nails Inc kindly sent me a discount code for use in March so I think I’ll finally be getting these.

I’m yet to try Sinful Colours and ‘Easy Going’ looks like a great shade to test out the range. At only £1.99 a bottle I can’t go far wrong.

The Rimmel Sweetie Crush range looks like a pastel version of the Space Dust collection which I loved. I’m especially liking the look of ‘Violet Swizzle’.

I can never choose which Topshop nail colours I want most, I just want them all! Along with the Barry M Gellys and Bourjois 1 Seconde, these are my favourite brand of polish, such great quality and gorgeous packaging. ‘Whizz Kid’ and ‘Rose Petal’ caught my eye during my last browse.

Chocolate scented nail polish remover. That is all. Thanks Ciate!

What’s on your mani wish list?

Valentine’s Wishlist

Valentines wishlistDo you love Valentine’s Day or do you hate it? I personally love it, even if my other half doesn’t. It is a farce of a ‘holiday’ that puts unnecessary pressure on some people but the way I see it, it’s an excuse to treat yourself. Whether you are single or coupled up with a non-believer, it’s always good to have a reason to treat yourself. So I knocked together a wishlist of sorts. Do I expect any of these items lovingly wrapped up on the 14th? No. I might buy them for myself earlier.

I love this Too Faced Sweethearts Blush purely for the packaging. So cute. £20.40 from Beauty Bay.

Cut Out Heart Midi Ring £4.50 Topshop.

There are so many lovely knits with heart shaped elbow patches on ASOS just now but I picked this red striped one thinking it the most festive. £15.00 in the ASOS  sale.

Can’t get enough of Bomb Cosmetics just now. This Love Cloud gift pack is only £12.99. Compare that to the Lush Valentine products!

DKNY Be Delicious City Blossoms Urban Violet £37.00 from Boots.

Cats! I Meow You Phone Case, £6.65 from Forever 21.

I think a notebook is a perfect Valentine’s gift, whether you want to fill it with love poetry beforehand is entirely up to you! £15 from Paperchase.

Lastly, this is literally the most perfect card for me! I’d keep it post Valentine’s and frame it. This Etsy shop is on holiday at the moment so I can’t find a price but here’s the link anyway.

Minus the card, that comes to £111.54. Hmm might have to scale back. That Forever 21 case will be mine though! What have you had your eye on lately?

Wish List – Sale Shopping

I am terrible at sale shopping. I get stressed by messy shops (must be the memories of Saturdays spent folding jeans), I get my head turned by stuff that is not on sale and inevitably come home with stuff I don’t actually want. So this year I’m being more considered.

The work ‘black-tie’ event appropriate dress Asos Skater dressFirst things first – avoiding last minute “whaddya mean it’s black tie?” panic. This Darling Skater Dress with Polka Sleeves from ASOS would do the trick nicely. And Hallelujah – it has sleeves! Down from £59 to £38.

Trainers. For ‘sports’ SchuhUrgh, yeah New Years resolutions and all that. I need some decent trainers and I like these Nike Air Max Triax 94s from Schuh. I like Nike as they tend to be quite narrow and I have narrow (but long) feet. Down from £87 to £56.99.

New, non-tatty Boyfriend Jumper Urban Outfitters jumperI love a slouchy jumper to wear to work, but the ones I have are looking a bit worse for wear so need replacing. I love this BDG Waffle Boyfriend Jumper from Urban Outfitters, especially the colour. £20 down from £45.

A Treat for being a Good Shopper Asos t-shirtBecause you can never have too many cat themed t-shirts. This CAPTURE by Hollywood Made t-shirt at ASOS is £18 down from £55. What an adorable bargain.

And that’s it. Er, not counting the Lush order that’s on its way. Total cost is £132.99. Not too bad considering I totally need this stuff! What do you have your eye on in the sales?

Fashion Wishlist #1

Fashion WishlistThe theme of this wishlist is very clear – I’m cold and I wish I wasn’t!

Top row: How insanely snuggly does this River Island Faux Fur Parka look?; Loving the winter florals, especially this New Look Skater Dress; This Only Knit Cross Jumper from ASOS looks like a good inbetweeny jumper for before it starts snowing; These tights, also from ASOS, have dinosaurs all over them! Amazing!

Bottom row: This Penguin T-shirt from Next is a great step towards full on Christmas jumper time; I’m after a new bobble hat and I love the colour of this Cable Beanie from Topshop; I fell in love with this Zara Double Sided Scarf after Lily Pebbles blogged about it, looks so cosy; To round it all off, a new Tartan Backpack from ASOS. Do love a bit of tartan.

Total cost for this list? £249.98. Oh well. What do you have your eye on for winter?

Shopping My Stash – Berry Eyeshadow Shades

Berry EyeshadowSo if you saw my wishlist post last week, you’ll know that I’ve been lusting after the  Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Metallic Pomegranate. But before I break the old spending ban, I thought I’d see if I already had any colours in my stash that might fill the gap.

17 Rose QuartzFirst up – 17 Solo Eyeshadow in ‘Rose Quartz’. Despite the name suggesting a pale pink colour, ‘Rose Quartz’ is a purpley toned metallic. Too pale to be a substitute for ‘Metallic Pomegranate’ but pretty all the same.

Sleek Storm Pallete Apologies for the messy palette but lets focus on the top right corner. This is the cranberry shade in Sleek’s ‘Storm’ palette (one of my all time faves). This is a dark, red shade that has enough brown tones in it to be very wearable.

Urban Decay Last CallPlease try to ignore the lushness that is ‘Smog’ there and focus your eyes on ‘Last Call’. This is the Urban Decay Book Of Shadows ‘New York’. It’s a truly beautiful palette – it even lights up! ‘Last Call’ is a cheeky plum shade that, like all UD shadows, is lovely, soft and easily blendable.

Fearne Cotton Made you lookLastly, Fearne Cotton’s make up line for Boots included this ‘Made you Look, Made you Stare’ palette that includes a bright cranberry red. Slightly less metallic than the other offerings, but a good shade.

Cranberry eyeshadow swatchesHere they are swatched on the hand. Top to bottom: 17; Sleek; Urban Decay; Fearne Cotton. The Fearne Cotton one is extremely powdery, hence the mess!

On to the winner! My top pick is the Sleek shadow. It is metallic, it’s definitely a pomegranate/cranberry shade, and it is a great quality shadow.

However, the eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that none of theses shadows are cream based so none can be described as ‘dupes’. Guess I do need the genuine article after all then.

Weekly Loves: Beauty Wish List

Beauty Wishlist10 things that are currently on my beauty wish list. 10! I’m so greedy. Luckily most of this stuff is fairly inexpensive. I am still on a spending ban for this kinda stuff though, so it’ll just have to remain a wish list. For now.

Top row: Bleach London Super Cool Colours (especially Rose); Stila Countless Colour Pigment in ‘Groupie’ (this and ‘Encore’ are currently on sale on ASOS!); Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Middle row: Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder (mostly because it’ll look awesome on my dressing table); MUA Pro Brow Kit (currently out of stock everywhere, ugh); Lush ‘Cinders’ Bath Ballistic (my absolute favourite from the Christmas range).

Bottom row: Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo in ‘Metallic Pomegranate’;  Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (heard lots of good stuff about this, intrigued to try it out); Loreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint (swatched this in the shop and it feels sooo silky!); Superdry Kabuki Brush (or any kabuki brush, but it has to be a pretty one like this as it will be sitting out).

The total cost of this wish list of £64.40, which is not bad considering it’s 10 items. The most expensive item is the kabuki brush (£14) but I’m sure I’d be able to find a cheaper alternative.

Do you have any of this? Would you recommend it?

Friday Favourites – 23 November

Lots more cool stuff to coo over this week. Enjoy!

The Ramones Distilled

Oh my, I love this! Typography, pink, heart shape,  punk rock. This is poster perfection by John Cheves, found on his Folksy shop, Wasted and Wounded. There are also versions for The Clash, Sex Pistols and more but I think this is my favourite.

Visit www.folksy.com/shops/WastedAndWounded to buy, they are priced at a very reasonable £36.00 each.

Jan Christie Christmas Nails

Ah how cute are these? Kitsch water transfers for your nails with a festive spin on them.

Available to buy from www.janchristie.com for a bargainous £1.80 a sheet.

Star Wars Snowflakes

Can’t wait to dig out the Christmas decorations, including these Star War snowflakes which I made last year. Designed by Anthony Herrera, templates are available on his website. An alternative Christmas craft if ever there was one. I’ll be making some of the new characters added this year, time to dig out the craft knife.

Check out www.anthonyherreradesigns.com for templates for the above and more.

And there we have my favourites for this week. Thanks for reading!

Friday Favourites – 16 November

Another week of favourites. This week I’ve mostly been looking forward to an event rather than lusting over objects… although some of that too obviously.

Topshop Geek Tee

Seen this t-shirt about lots recently and I’m really loving the cut, colour and the slogan. Maybe if I get my Christmas shopping done early I can treat myself. It’ll go with all my genuinely geeky t-shirts – seriously, I have dinosaurs, Batman, Jaws and more.

Available at www.topshop.com for £18.00 Pricey for a tee but very cool.

Indie Christmas Cards

As much as I love the high street I am a big advocate for shopping in independent stores and buying from artists where possible. When it comes to cards, I always buy charity cards, especially at Christmas and now I have found the perfect combination. I absolutely love these Christmas cards by Sarah Clark, especially the ‘Holidays are Coming’ design. You get 8 gorgeous cards for £4.50 and 50p from each sale will be donated to Parkinson’s Disease Society to boot. I think I’ll get some to send, and some for myself to pop in frames for decoration.

You can buy these from www.etsy.com/shop/SarahCatherineDesign.

John Bellany

The Voyage (1973)

Ok, so this might be something I’d like to buy, but it would never happen! John Bellany is one of my favourite artists, probably my favourite Scottish painter anyway (oh wait…Howson… no I can’t choose). In honour of his 70th birthday, which I’m sure he can’t believe he’s seeing, there is a huge retrospective of his work at National Galleries Scotland opening tomorrow. I’m going to see it next week and I can’t wait.

For more information about the exhibition, see here.

Short post, but that’s my favourites for this week. I hope to do a review of Bellany’s exhibition next week so be sure to have a look back if that’s something you would be interested in.
