What’s on My Christmas Tree

Today I’m doing a festive post all about my lovely Christmas tree. We put this up last night, and boy, it is a beast! I was tagged by (another) Ali to take part in her ‘What’s on My Christmas Tree‘ tag so I’ll be answering a few questions along the way.

Christmas Tree Tag

  • Post a picture of your tree – Done!
  • Tell us if the tree is real or fake

This is a fake tree from Argos. We were going to get a real tree this year – our first in our own place – but in the end we couldn’t be bothered going out to pick one out so ending up with the huge 8 foot artificial one. As long as our next home has high ceilings, it should last us a good while!

  • A few things about the decorations on the tree. Ex: I made this ornament three years ago, etc

Christmas Tree AngelMost of our decorations on the tree are new this year. We have a star on the top, but I do have this special angel nestled in the middle. This will be the first Christmas without my Gran and this lute-playing angel was rescued from a box of her decorations when her house was being cleared. She’ll have pride of place on my tree for many years to come.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFunnily enough, some of my other favourite decorations are ones my Gran would have hated! She had a phobia of birds and feathers so I’ve made sure to keep her angel away from the feather filled glass bauble and the little birds. Sorry Gran – you know I love birds though! I also really love the white with silver swirls glass baubles that we nabbed from David’s parent’s attic. Just the right amount of sparkle!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALastly, a couple of other details from around the living room. My hand-made Mario Santa and the fuzzy polar bear were vetoed from the tree but I found homes for them elsewhere.

Thanks to Ali for making this tag. Go check out her blog here – http://thecutelittlebeautyblog.wordpress.com

This is the bit where I’m meant to tag others, but I always fail at this (plus it’s rubbish when you don’t get ‘officially’ tagged for anything), so just consider yourself tagged if you would like to join in. I’d love to see your Christmas trees so leave your links below.

  1. Christmas trees are definitely one of my favourite parts of the festive season. Yours looks lovely! Can’t wait til I live in a flat big enough to have a full sized tree rather than the baby one I’ve squashed into my London flat! X
