China Glaze is one of my favourite brands of nail polish, especially for their glitters. When I saw a new purple glitter (‘Put A Bow On It’) in their Christmas ‘Holiglaze’ range, I knew I had to get it. Even better when I found this set on Nail Polish Direct for just £9.99. That’s less than £2.50 per bottle!
Left to right: ‘Just Be-Claws’; ‘Santa Red My List’; ‘Put A Bow On It’; ‘Be Merry , Be Bright’.
‘Just Be-Claws is a shimmery red foil. It’s certainly very festive! I do like this actually and I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of it over December. This self-levels and with careful application you could get away with one coat.
Even though this one is called ‘Santa Red My List’, it’s really more on the pink side. I’d describe it as a pink foil with a champagne shimmer, although as I sit wearing this in a semi-dark room now I can see that it takes on a red tone in dimmer light. Again, the formula is great, this is one coat.
The one that started it all! ‘Put A Bow On It’ is a purple micro glitter that dries to a slightly gritty texture. I put two coats over a dark purple. I just love it. It’s nice to get something that isn’t too season specific in a Christmas gift set too.
Sorry that this picture in no way does justice to ‘Be Merry, Be Bright’. This is a chunky glitter top coat that is a mixture of small and large red and purple glitter suspended in a clear base. It’ll look great over navy, purple, or red as I did in the above picture as an accent nail with ‘Just Be-Claws’. This is one coat of the glitter with a bit of dabbing. I got lots of compliments on this combo when I wore it to work recently.
The other thing that I haven’t mentioned is that this set is actually minis. At 9.6ml it is very generous for a ‘mini’, in fact I think only China Glaze fans would realise that they’re smaller than a normal bottle. Massive thumbs up to the company for this. I really think that this collection would make a fantastic gift for any beauty lover.
What do you think of this collection? What shade is your favourite?
