As it’s the very last day in November (finally! Sorry to wish a month away but my Boots Advent Calendar has been sitting there for nearly six weeks now) I thought I’d do The Christmas Tag created by Makeup-Pixi3 to get this blog in the festive mood. I really hope we see some snow like in the above photo. I think it was taken in late January this year – fingers crossed it’ll arrive in time for the big day this year.
1. Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
Honestly, I’m not that bothered. We used to get a real tree when we were young but it was a bit of a hassle and the cat thought it was a fancy new indoor loo so we switched to artificial. David though loves a real tree so that’s what we’ll be getting this year. Maybe I’ll be a convert.
2. You’re in a coffee shop, it’s December, what do you pick?
I’m not a big hot beverage drinker but I do treat myself to the odd hot chocolate in the winter time. I love Starbucks Orange Hot Chocolate and I’m looking forward to trying the Costa White Hot Chocolate.
3. Whats your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
Glitter! Any colour as long as the lights are a warm white.
4. Giving or receiving?
I hope this is referring to gifts! I love giving presents, it’s just another excuse to shop! It’s wonderful to receive presents of course, but the real reward is in knowing you’ve found a great gift that’ll make someone’s day.
5. To mince pie or not?
Nope. Hate them. Yule log for me please.
6. What’s your traditional Sunday lunch?
For Christmas dinner we also have the traditional turkey with all the trimmings. Starter is varied, sometimes canapes or fish or salad – just whatever my dad (who does the cooking) thinks of. There is Christmas pudding with brandy for dessert for the grownups and a chocolate alternative for the kids (and me – hate Xmas pud).
7. Christmas day fashion
Something nice but comfy, maybe a nice new jumper or something.
8. What’s your favourite Christmas song?
Just so many! I love Elton John’s Step into Christmas, The Pogues Fairytale of New York, The Killers Don’t Shoot Me Santa and The Vandals Oi to the World.
9. What’s your favourite Christmas film?
It’s a Wonderful Life. Simple. How could it be anything else? It’s a Frank Capra Christmas film with James Stewart in it. Can’t be beaten. I also love Elf, it’s just so funny. I watch both of these every year at least once. I always go to Filmhouse to see It’s a Wonderful Life in the cinema and watch it at home too.
10. Open presents before lunch of after?
Always before. Although we take our time with it and my brother’s kids get so many gifts, there is often a couple of presents to open after too.
Eeee can’t wait for Christmas now! I’m off for an orange hot choc now, I tag YOU! Leave me link if you do/have done this tag.
