A few weeks ago I was invited along to the launch of the newly opened Ted & Muffy store in Bath. Ted & Muffy is the new brand from the designers behind Duo, offering a dreamy range of shoes and boots with a huge selection of sizes. Their tagline is “Fairytale Fitters” and the focus is on fashion led footwear that also fits like a glove. Their seasonal ranges will cover a whole spectrum of trends underpinned by staples and classics to build your ultimate shoe wardrobe.
I am obsessed with the branding – monochrome, wolves, pumpkins and ponies… very Hans Christian Anderson. And the Bath store itself is gorgeous. Stripped wood, exposed brick, industrial stools and benches next to ornate mirrors, it is the definition of “interior goals”. It feels very appropriate to the area. The stripped back look also provides the perfect blank canvas to allow the products to sing. The lighting and the abundant mirrors also offers a fab setting for a good try on session.
I love the attention to detail on all of the items. I think that Duo, and by extension Ted & Muffy are known for their boots as it offers a bespoke fitting service, something not a lot of high street retailers do. Which is, of course fantastic, but the shoes also deserve a mention. Brogues, loafers, pumps; I love a flat shoe and I was definitely getting all heart-eyes over the metallic loafers and the bee detailing above.
After having a good wander around the store I was handed a key and a wish to pick our favourite pair. Now apparently my fairytale is quite a practical one as I gravitated towards two pairs of flat knee-high numbers. The Ted & Muffy team were on hand to measure and fit and to offer advice. I tried on two foot sizes (damn half sized feet, but I found the smaller size fit better), and one leg width and I didn’t feel rushed or awkward about asking for sizes, even though it was really busy so thumbs up for customer service. I do sometimes struggle to get boots to fit my legs so the fitting service is really helpful. It was simply a very quick measurement and voila I’m a ‘K’.
My boots arrived a few days later. Again, that branding! It looks super luxe, I don’t think I’ll be able to throw that box away, must find a way to reuse it.
I’ll show you what I went for in a full OOTD post tomorrow. For now I wanted to share a mini wishlist of some other beauties that caught my eye.
Top row: Zoom Cherry Red Patent (£160); Zultan Cocoa Brown Leather (£200)
Bottom row: Gleam Ink Navy Suede (£160); Althea Dove Grey Suede (£300); Riddle Chestnut Leather (£150)
What do you think of the new Ted & Muffy range? Do any of the above take your fancy?
