I was a big fan of the Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons in the summer, especially Fuchsia Libre, so I was excited when I saw that they had two new colors for Autumn/Winter. Sadly, I’ve not managed to find Plum Russian in the shops yet – seems to be the more popular of the two – but I did snap up Red Island on a recent haul.
Red Island is a true red which is quite bright, although the formula of the lip crayon means that it can be sheered out a bit. It is super glossy, so much so that I give it a bit of a pat once applied to matte it down a bit, but high-shine fans will love it. Bourjois claim that it lasts 10 hours, it doesn’t, but it has reasonable wear considering that it is a glossy crayon. It doesn’t cope well with eating or drinking though so make sure you take it with you if you’re heading out! On the plus side, it’s really easy to apply straight from the crayon, no brushes required.
