Polka dots! I’m loving this trend, but totally not looking forward to removing these. I’ve tried all the glitter removal tricks in the book but find most of them too fiddly or as time-consuming as scrubbing. Well luckily I’m planning on keeping this on for most of the week. Or at least untill I manage to bag some of the new Barry M Summer Gellys.
I used: Barry M ‘Dragon Fruit’ (pink base); Barry M ‘Spring Green’ (green base); Maybelline Colour Show Polka Dots ‘Speckled Pink’ (pink jelly with polka dots); Maybelline Colour Show Polka Dots ‘Rain Forest Canopy’ (green jelly with polka dots). Finished with Seche Vite for high-shine and smoothness.
‘Dragon Fruit’ is the perfect base coat for ‘Speckled Pink’. The above is one coat of each. Bright, pop-y and squishy, I love the look of this. It’s made me fall in love with pink again. ‘Rain Forest Canopy’ is actually quite a dark green jelly, so I teamed it with ‘Spring Green’ to brighten it up slightly. It’s a lot more streaky looking than the pink but I’m certain that this is just due to the colour contrast. Still looks pretty good though.
What do you think of the polka dot topcoat trend? Do you think it’ll last the summer?
