Following my review of Revlon’s Moon Candy Nail Art duo I wanted to share a look at the equivalent offering from Models Own. There are 8 to choose from in the collections and they cost £6 a pop. This particular combo is called’ Boogie Dream’ and consists of ‘Lilac Dream’ on one end and ‘Boogie Nights’ from the Mirror Ball collection.
The first thing that I noticed was that the bottle is a lot lighter than the Revlon one so It’s really easy to handle. The base colour goes on really smoothly, opaque and even in two coats. I really like the colour and even though its nothing original, you can never have too many pretty lilacs in my opinion.
Sorry for the blurry pic, camera was not playing ball! I got this coverage with one coat and a small amount of dabbing to fill in the gaps. I found that some of the flakies did not lie flat so I had to put a thick coat of Seche Vite over the top. This was not the case with all of the flakes, just the odd one, so you could easily just pick the bent ones off if it bothered you.
Overall, I really like this product. I feel like the colours available are more seasonal appropriate than the Revlon collection. The only disappointment is the fact that none of these colours are new. If you have a substantial Models Own collection already these won’t really add to it but it is a good way to dip your toe in the water if you’re new to the brand.
What do you think of the trend for double ended nail polishes?
