Make Up Revolution Mini Haul

Make up Revolution

Make Up Revolution and their little sister brand, I Love Makeup are the newest and hottest thing on the budget beauty scene. I received one of their eye and brow palettes in the British Beauty Blogger Dream Box alongside of 20% discount code so I was keen to take advantage and try some more. So that’s exactly what I did!

Salvation Palette, What You Waiting For? £6. The Salvation palettes consist of 12 shimmer eyeshadows and 6 matte eyeshadows. The WYWF? palette (inspired by the Gwen Stafani song) is a neutral palette which features a number of rosy gold shades not unlike the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. The shades are all named after lines in the song which I think is a really cool idea. I like all of the shades, there’s not a single one that I wouldn’t wear. My one criticism would be that two of the shades are pretty much identical – ‘Tick Tock’ (top row, second from left) and ‘Can’t Find the Brake’ (tow row, third from left). Luckily this is my favourite shade so I’m not too fussed about the lack of variety.

Salvation Palette, Girls on Film, £6. Another neutral palette! But for £6 you can’t go wrong and this one features more taupes and purple based shades. This palette certainly doesn’t feel like £6 either. It’s sturdy, has a huge mirror and all 18 of the shadows are of a high quality. The matte shades are not as pigmented as the shimmers, but they never are and while I wouldn’t say that it stands up to the quality of Urban Decay, it comes very close. I’ve tried a mixture of the shades and was pleasantly surprised at easily they apply, even with the sponge applicators and how buttery and without fallout that they are.

Blush and Contour Palette, Hot Spice, £6. Consisting of 6 blush shades and two gorgeous highlighters. Two of the blush shades are pretty sparkly, but the other four are matte. They are all very pigmented so just need the lightest touch. The highlighters are just lovely, with the marbled tones they look this the moon and Jupiter!

I Love Makeup, Blushing Hearts, Candy Queen of Hearts Blusher, £4.99. No prizes of guessing who has influenced this particular triple baked blusher! I have always been keen to try the Too Faced heart-shaped blusher but just couldn’t justify the price. This has really nice shade individually and produces a nice pale pink when swirled together.

I’m very happy with my purchases. Even with all the hype around the brand, they really live up to expectations. I especially like the eyeshadows and would not think twice about buying more.

Have you bought anything from Makeup Revolution? What would you recommend from the brand?

  2. Wow these look so good for the price. Is the blush contour pallet all powder base or cream? Is this brand just online or from a store also?

    1. Oops should have said that! They’re all powders. I think you can get this in larger Superdrug store, although I haven’t seen it in mine. Website is: http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/
